  • Overview

    Counterpart International is activity recruiting consultants with experience and expertise in civil society strengthening – more specifically organizational capacity building, advocacy training and technical assistance provision, program evaluation and learning, and community development. We are seeking consultants from around the world to support current Counterpart civil society programming and to assist in the deign and implementation of future programs.

    Responsibilities

    Counterpart seeks civil society consultants throughout the world to work on projects and activities in the following areas:

    • Civil society organization (CSO) capacity assessment, action planning, and organizational strengthening including leadership strengthening and performance evaluation.
    • Advocacy training development and delivery; advocacy campaign technical assistance; and advocacy monitoring and evaluation system development.
    • Political economy analysis, political power mapping, social network analysis, and other models of contextual analysis and mapping for enhanced advocacy and program design.
    • Individual leadership training including women’s political leadership, youth leadership, and organizational leadership.
    • Assessments including but not limited to gender, youth, conflict, civil society, and civic space; Evaluations including project baseline, mid-term, and end-of-project.
    • Human rights activity support including action plan indicator development and monitoring, rights-based advocacy and research, case management, and security sector technical assistance provision.

    Qualifications

    • At least 10 years’ experience working with civil society organizations and / or on good governance issues. Demonstrated familiarity with the concepts, methods, and tools related to work on civil society and governance.
    • Excellent English language verbal and written communications; French, Spanish, Arabic, and Russian languages highly desired as well.
    • Ability to work in a cross-cultural context and among different populations including in rural areas.
    • Demonstrated experience conducting civil society organizational assessments, action planning, and subsequent training and technical assistance provision.
    • Strong research capacity including knowledge of research methods, use of statistical software, data gathering and analysis, and report writing.
    • Advanced degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Political Science, Governance and Civil Society and/or other related fields.
